Went to work in 1970, at the age of 19, for a small local lumber yard in Lake Oswego Oregon. By May of 1985, he owned it! When he sold it in 2003, he had grown sales by 5400% and grew to 13 locations across Oregon and Washington and to some 500 plus employees. Much industry knowledge and experience were gained in that period.
Spent many years with Ralston Purina’s Wonderbread and Hostess Cake working up the management ladder. In 1995 he went to work for Mike in his credit department. As the Credit Manager he learned a lot about people in the business and how to protect a Building Material supplier from bad debt.
